Essential Dental Visits: Keep Your Smile Bright!

Even if you take excellent care of your teeth and gums at home, you still need to see a dentist regularly to maintain good oral health. On average, seeing a dentist twice a year works well for people without any dental conditions.

With cleanings and checkups, hygienists and dentists can find any potential issues to avoiding tooth decay, gum disease or other oral health issues. In addition to regular check-ups, good at home care consisting of brushing and flossing, can spare you extensive additional dental treatments.

As part of our Cleaning and Prevention program, our hygienist will give you a professional cleaning followed by a comprehensive dental exam performed by the dentist.

At your initial visit at Gold Coast Dental Center, you can usually expect:
  • Cleaning – the hygienist will scrape along and slightly below the gum line to remove plaque or tartar build-up that leads to bad breath, cavities and gum disease. After that, the hygienist will polish and floss your teeth.
  • Comprehensive Examination – After your cleaning, Dr. Karedan will perform a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth. This is done to look for cavities, signs of disease or other problems.
  • X-Rays - (when indicated) are used to help spot problems that might otherwise be unnoticed, such as cavities in between your teeth, impacted or abscessed teeth, or other conditions.
If you’re anxious, be assured that the Gold Coast Dental team will cater to you and make you feel as comfortable as possible.
